Eco-Explorers

If you’re looking to keep the kids occupied over the school holiday, the Eco-Explorers School Holiday Program will offer six different educational nature-based sessions taking place in Currumbin, not far from our Palm Beach Gold Coast accommodation. These fun adventures will take kids of up to nine years old to select environments where they can take part in games, stories and hands-on activities.

Plants That Talk on April 8 will teach how to observe and distinguish plants by their leaves. Beautiful Butterflies on April 10 will be a butterfly spotting and learning session. Tidal Pools on April 12 will take kids to Tallebudgera Creek to find and learn about the creatures that live in the rock pools. Lively Lizards on April 15 will involve friendly lizards and their habitats. The Mystery Program will get scientific with water testing and creature spotting in the creek. And Feathers on April 18 get the kids to hunt for feathers and distinguishing which bird they came from.

Horror in the Hinterland

Coming to a secret location in Springbrook, Horror in the Hinterland invites daring outdoor movie lovers to the Australian premiere screening of The Furies, the debut survival thriller from Australian director Tony D’Aquino, which follows seven women that are abducted and forced to join a deadly game. The Furies will be followed by a screening of The Cabin in the Woods, the 2012 comedy-horror blockbuster that starred Chris Hemsworth.

Part of the 2019 Gold Coast Film Festival, Horror in the Hinterland is one of many unmissable outdoor screenings coming this April – the perfect excuse for cinephiles to grab a blanket and cosy up next to friends and family!

If you’re a fan of movies that get your heart racing, don’t miss Horror in the Hinterland on April 13, which will arrive with the 2019 Gold Coast Film Festival from April 3 to April 14.

International Netball Festival Gold Coast

The International Netball Festival is the Gold Coast’s biggest netball competition that takes place each year. Involving Clubs and Schools from all over the world, this nine-day festival is a must for netball fans and beachgoers alike, where, as well as plenty of competitive netball, there’ll be activities to take part in for all ages. Come along to show your support, as well as enjoy nonstop netballing action on one of the Gold Coast’s best beaches!

The International Netball Festival arrives on Palm Beach from April 19 to April 27, with game days taking place on April 20, April 22 and April 25.

The Seven-Year Switch

Enjoy an exciting part of Bleach* Festival this April with The Seven-Year Switch, a creative workshop on Palm Beach that will invite seven and seventy-seven year-olds to join in a “Creative Lab” of games, storytelling, and dancing.

Together with Everybody NOW, participants will be part of an exploration into the seven-year cycles of life, including our bodies, feelings, and stories. There will be also lots of dancing with tracks that have marked important moments in time. The two-day event will finish with a party for all ages.

The Seven-Year Switch will take place on Palm Beach on April 24 and April 25, and will be part of the 2019 Bleach* Festival – the most important art and performance festival each year on the Gold Coast!
